Proposed development content:

  • Up to 350 homes and apartments (including 40% key-worker and affordable units) and accommodation for 100 students. Projected housing density - 48 dwellings per hectare
  • Public open space, including allotments
  • Access roads, footpaths and cycleway

Current status

  • Planning permission for a combined footpath/ cycleway and emergency access link to the adopted highway in Greenlands was given in June 2008.
  • Section 106 agreement completed and planning permission issued in December 2010 for up to 347 dwellings comprising houses and apartments, including affordable and key worker housing and 100 bed student living accommodation for the Bell Language School. The outline approval also includes public open space, vehicular access from Babraham Road, footpaths, cycleways and drainage. Approval of the scheme's details was reserved for subsequent approval.
  • An application for the site access was refused in October 2011.
