Saturday 4 May, 10am-3pm

Join us for a sociable and flat 6.5 mile walk from Great St Mary’s Church in Cambridge city centre. From historic colleges and The Backs into the immediate rural hinterland and the West Fields, past the striking architecture of the University’s West Cambridge site, into the Coton Countryside Reserve, before returning via the University’s Sidgwick site in Newnham to the City Centre.

We will visit Coton Produce Sale in Coton Village Hall for coffee, cakes, and seasonal produce; opportunities to divert to The Plough in Coton for lunch, or bring a packed lunch and drinks.

The walk is around 6.5 miles long, and could take up to 5 hours including breaks. Most of the walking is on surfaced or hard earth paths, which could be muddy after rain. Please dress for the weather and wear suitable walking shoes.

Meeting point is in front of Great St Mary’s Church, Kings Parade, Cambridge.

Free, donations appreciated.

This is one of a programme of free walks to Coton Reserve and the countryside owned by Cambridge Past Present and Future around Coton village and Madingley Rise.

Walks take place on the first Saturday of the month from April to October and coincide with a Coton Produce Sale in the Village Hall 10am to Noon.
