Tues 14 December, 10.30am-1pm. Madingley Paddock, Cambridge. Volunteer Work Party

Help the planet by planting trees. We are planting a new woodland to create new wildlife habitat, reduce air pollution and store carbon. This is part of our efforts to create a Cambridge Nature Network.

We will provide tools, instructions and trees. However if you have your own spade then please bring it with you as we may not have enough for everyone.

Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and we recommend wearing boots or wellies.

Bring a drink/snack to keep you going.

No need to book, just turn up. All welcome including under 18s if accompanied.

The planting will take place in a field that we call Madingley Paddock. This is the triangular field between Madingley Road and Cambridge Road. Access is via a gate on Cambridge Road (approx 200 metres from Madingley Road junction). You can use What3Words to find the location: https://w3w.co/hoot.rising.rigid

Please aim to arrive at 10.30 so that we can give instructions to everyone.

Please make your own way to the field and we will greet you there:

  • If coming by cycle, you can bring your cycle into the field where it will be safe.
  • If coming by car, please park in the Coton Orchard Garden Centre car park and walk from there to the field (this is a walk of 500 metres and will involve crossing Madingley Road and walking alongside Cambridge Road). The garden centre has kindly allowed volunteers to park there for this activity.

This project is part of the Cambridge Nature Network and is being funded by Natural England's Nature Recovery Project.
