Hinxton village & Hinxton Watermill

Volunteers are aiming to help boost funds to look after the historic mill, which was saved from demolition in the mid 1980s, and is run by CPPF as a working museum. 

Home made cakes and teatime favourites will be served at Hinxton Village Hall in the High Street from 2.30-5pm to coincide with the regular open day at the mill.

Come and look round this beautiful working watermill. The mill will be working guides will show you how the mill works and tell you the history of this incredible building. The mill dates to the 17th century and is the only watermill still working on the River Cam, there has been a watermill here since before the Domesday Book.

Children can take part in the popular Where’s Ratty contest and have the chance to win a prize!

Owned by local charity Cambridge Past, Present & Future and run by dedicated volunteers the mill is set in picturesque surroundings on the River Cam, in the village of Hinxton. There are also lovely walks along the river and picnic benches.

Members free, non-members £3 adult, £1 per child.
